Alumni Update – Butler’s Wyatt Daugherty

Posted on:

Wyatt Daugherty supplied Slippery Rock University with a much-needed dominating performance in a 5-0 Rock victory over Clarion University.

Daugherty, who is tied for fifth in Pennyslvania State Athletic Conference history in career saves, broke from his position as one of the top closers in the region to make his third career start for SRU on Sunday.

He responded by limiting CU to just five hits while striking out six batters over seven innings. His strong start came on the heels of a three-inning save in SRU’s 5-2 win against Seton Hill University on April 2.

He did not allow a run in 10 innings pitched last week while going 1-0 with one save.

The Butler graduate was named PSAC Western Division Pitcher of the Week for his performance.
