Seneca Valley’s Lexie Hames wins Gatorade PA Softball Player of the Year

Today, Seneca Valley’s Lexie Hames was named the Pennsylvania Softball Player of the Year but Gatorade. Hames is the first WPIAL player since 2018 to win state player of the year in softball when Lexi Wagner of Seton La Salle won the award. Hames is the first Big 56 player to win the award since 2017 when Hempfield’s Morgan Ryan was the recipient.

Hames is considered one of the top pitchers in the country for the Class of 2025 and has already committed to Clemson to play her college softball. She had a 16-1 record this season with 265 strikeouts in 114 2/3 innings. She also got it done at the plate hitting nine home runs and drove in 27 runs.
