6A GIRLS BASKETBALL FIRST ROUND

#9 Butler (11-11) at #8 Peters Township (12-10) – 8 pm

Butler finished the regular season as the fourth-place finisher in Section 1-6A. They average 51.0 points per game (6^th in 6A) and allow 51.8 points per game (8^th in 6A). Butler defeated Karns City in the regular season finale last Monday 54-35 to snap a 4-game losing streak. They are led by Justine Forbes and Amelia McMichael. Forbes averages 15.4 points per game while McMichael averages 15.0 points per games. Forbes finished the regular season 6^th in 6A in scoring while McMichael finished in 7^th. Hannah Aldridge is coming off of a 13-point performance in Butler’s win against Karns City. Forbes had 27 points in that game.

Peters Township ended the regular season tied for fourth place in Section 2-6A. They average 58.8 points per game (2^nd in 6A) and allow 51.5 points per game (7^th in 6A). Peters Township finished the regular season on a 3-game winning streak following up losing 10 of 11 games. They are led by Gemma Walker and Natalie Wetzel. Walker averages 20.1 points per game while Wetzel averages 19.2 points per game. Walker finished the regular season as the 6A scoring champion while Wetzel ended up 3^rd in 6A in scoring. Sami Bewick is coming off of a 21-point performance in Peters Township’s last win over Hempfield. Walker had 23 points in that game while Wetzel had 15.
