Upper St. Clair’s Danny Holzer Wins 400th Game

Upper St. Clair Head Coach Danny Holzer earned his 400th career win on Friday as the Panthers defeated Bethel Park, 75-64, in overtime.

Tanner Gensler had a game high 23 points including nine in overtime. Chris Pantelis had 14 points and Ben Sandusky had 13.

Holzer is in his 24th season as Upper St. Clair’s head coach. The Panthers have captured the schools’s only two WPIAL Championships under Holzer in 1996 and 2005 and have made the playoffs 19 out of the past 21 years. He becomes only the 12th active WPIAL coach to reach the 400 win mark.

The Panthers will round out section play on Tuesday at Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. They have already solidified second place in the section behind the Blue Devils.
