Moon Keeps Pace For Section Title With Win At Chartiers Valley

With undefeated Mars at the top of the Section 2-5A, the margin for error is minimal for any team chasing them. The Moon boys’ basketball team is the one team that can catch them, and they kept pace with a 50-48 win at Chartiers Valley on Tuesday night.

The Tigers swept the season series with the Colts, with both games being decided by two points.

Junior Connor Ryan led Moon with 21 points. Joe Pipilo had a game-high 22 points for the Colts, and Brayden Reynolds added 15 points.

With the win, Moon is one game back of Mars for first place in the section with a 13-2 and 5-1 record. They have another tough section matchup tonight when they host third-place West Allegheny at 7:30 p.m.

Chartiers Valley drops to 7-7 and 4-3 and are still in fourth place in the section. They will host first-place Mars on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
