Shaler Girls Volleyball Advances To First WPIAL Championship

For the first time in program history, the Shaler girls volleyball team will be competing in the WPIAL Championship Game.

The No. 2 Titans advanced through the semifinals with a five-set thriller against No. 3 Oakland Catholic.

Shaler won by scores of 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 24-26, 15-7.

Leading the Titans were Mia Schubert with 21 kills and 22 digs, Morgan Gralewski with 13 kills and 21 digs, Tia Bozzo with 35 digs, three blocks and 43 assists, Addie Kania with 34 digs and Sierra Ricci with 22 digs.

Shaler will take on top-seed North Allegheny on Saturday at Chartiers Valley High School at 5 p.m. In the season series, North Allegheny has swept Shaler.
