The Seneca Valley Raiders Basketball Teams earned a pair of hard fought victories on Monday night. In Boys’ action, the Raiders topped the Perry Commodores, 78-75, in overtime for a non-section win at home.  Senior Matt Darby (in photo) provided the game tying hoop to send the game into an extra session, 69-69.  Junior T.J. Holl, who scored 18 points on the night, drained a game winning three-pointer with 5.7 seconds left in OT to lift Seneca Valley to the 78-75 victory.

SV’s Zach Snyder led all-scorers with 26 points.  Perry’s Devin Lyles led the Commodores with 21 points, followed by Marcus Dean’s 16 and Norman Taylor’s 11. The win improves Seneca Valley’s record to 4-1 overall before a section game tonight at North Hills.

In Section 3-AAAA play, the Seneca Valley Girls Basketball Team edged the Pine-Richland Rams on the road, 50-46. Senior forward Abby Trzeciak scored a game-high 19 points for the Raiders in the victory.  The Rams’ Amanda Kalin and Kaitlyn Jenkins touched double-digits with 17 and 11 points, respectively.

The Raiders improve to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in section play. Pine-Richland falls to 4-2 overall and 0-2 within the section.
