New Castle VS Hampton IV Not Much Different Than Before

The New Castle Red Hurricanes are still undefeated.  Though this was the closest and most thrilling of all four of their previous meetings, the Hampton Talbots fell short again 57-55 in the PIAA Quarterfinals.  The Red Hurricanes are now 29-0 on the season and will enter the PIAA Semifinals on Tuesday.  Their opponents will be Abington and they will play at 7:30pm at Chambersburg.

While this game was close and the Talbots even led by 7 at the half, the Red Hurricane would not be denied.  New Castle’s Malik Hooker found himself in foul trouble and had his minutes limited as a result but the Red Hurricanes are a solid team.  Even without their star player they are a force to be reckoned with as they start five seniors.

Those Seniors got the job done Saturday especially against Pitt recruit Ryan Luther who managed just 13 points and none in the second half. Collin Luther managed to put forth a tremendous effort as he was the games leading scorer with 26 points and fellow Talbot David Huber posted 10.

The Red Hurricanes were led bench player Robert Natale and Malik Hooker with 11 points a piece.  Fellow Canes in double digits were Stew and Drew Allen with 10.

The WPIAL has one representative from boy’s and girl’s in the Quad A PIAA Semifinals and you can see them both at Chambersburg on Tuesday night.  The North Allegheny Lady Tigers will tip off at 6pm and the New Castle Red Hurricanes are set to follow at 7:30.  Get out there and root on the WPIAL Quad A teams to Hershey!
