The Upper St. Clair girls soccer team registered two first half goals and came away with a huge 2-1 victory at top-ranked Peters Township on Monday Night.

The win moved the Panthers a game behind the Indians for second place in Section 2-4A.

Finding the back of the net for USC were seniors Jane Madson and Landy Mertz. Senior Regan Lavigna scored for the Indians. The win also allowed the Panthers to split the regular season series with the Indians, who won the first matchup, 2-0, back on Sept. 8.

Upper St. Clair improves to 7-3 overall and 6-3 in the section. The Panthers will go for their fourth straight win on Wednesday when they travel to Bethel Park for a 8 p.m. section game.

Peters Township drops to 9-2 overall and 7-2 in the section. The Indians will look to get back on track on Wednesday when they travel to Brashear for a 7 p.m. section game.
