Pitching Keeps Penn-Trafford Baseball Undefeated

The Penn-Trafford baseball team had its lowest offensive output of the season on Wednesday, but it was still enough to keep the Warriors undefeated.

Behind the arms of senior Maclean Maund, Penn-Trafford picked up a 1-0 win against Hempfield at Seton Hill University.

The only run in the game came in the first inning. With two outs, senior Luke Fabac singled in junior Anthony Sherwin.

Hempfield threatened with runners in scoring position a couple of times, but Maund was able to work out of it.

Maund went six innings, striking out nine. Senior Bobby Kusinsky pitched the seventh inning to record the save.

With the win, Penn-Trafford improves to 9-0 overall and 2-0 in the section. The Warriors will have a quick turnaround as they moved their next game up to today to avoid inclement weather. They will host Plum in a section game at 4 p.m.

Hempfield drops to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the section. The Spartans are scheduled to travel to Norwin on Friday at 4:15 p.m. for a section game.
