Pine-Richland Keeps Pace in Section Race

A lopsided fourth quarter benefitted the Pine-Richland boys basketball team as they overcame a six point deficit to defeat Seneca Valley, 61-51, on the road in Section 1-6A on Tuesday night.

The Rams, who trailed 45-39 entering the fourth quarter, outscored the Raiders 22-6 in the final quarter. Pine-Richland led 33-28 at the half, but were outscored 17-6 in the third quarter.

Pine-Richland had two players post 20-point performances, led by junior Greg Shulkosky with 22. JuniorĀ Dan Petcash finished with 20 points. SeniorĀ David Ritchie led Seneca Valley with 15 points.

The Rams pulls even with Butler for a second-place tie in the section with a 3-1 record and a 8-3 record overall. They will host North Hills on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Raiders are a game back of the Rams at 2-2 and 8-3 overall. They will travel to North Allegheny on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
