Highlands is out to prove that its loss in the WPIAL semifinals was a fluke. The Golden Rams won their second straight game by at least 19 points in the PIAA playoffs on Tuesday with a 73-54 at Gateway.

Highlands opened up a 18-14 lead after the first quarter and continued to slow its lead throughout the game. The Golden Rams led 37-37 at the half.

There big quarter came in the fourth when they erupted for 23 points.

They had four players score in double figures led by sophomore Luke Cochran with 21. Seniors Shawn Erceg and Romello Freeman finished with 16, and sophomore Jonny Crise with 10 points.

Highlands improves to 20-5 and will face WPIAL champion Mars in the PIAA quarterfinals on Friday at Gateway at 7:30 p.m.
