Chartiers Valley Wins Third Straight WPIAL Title

Earlier this season, Trinity ended Chartiers Valley’s state record 64-game win streak.

Ever since that game, the Colts were hoping for an opportunity for payback. They got exactly that on Monday night as No. 2 Chartiers Valley (23-3) defeated No. 1 Trinity (21-2), 62-40, at Peters Township’s AHN Arena.

After the game was tied 3-3 early on, it was all Colts from there. They led 22-10 after the first quarter and maintained a sizable lead for the rest of the game.

Junior Aislin Malcolm finished with a game-high 19 points. Junior Perri Page was right behind her with 18, and juniors Hallie and Helene Cowan finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Colts will face District 10 champion, Warren, in the PIAA Quarterfinals on Saturday.
