Latrobe edges Hempfield to stay undefeated in section play
The Latrobe girls basketball team proved they are the team in beat in Section 2-6A, knocking off Hempfield at home, 62-57.
The Wildcats jumped out to a narrow 13-8 advantage after the first quarter, and they were able to maintain that five point margin for the final outcome.
Senior Laura Graytok, an American University commit, led the way with 29 points. Senior Allison Podkul led the Spartans with 19 points.
The Wildcats improve to 7-2 and 3-0 in the section. They will be back in action next Wednesday in a non-section game against Obama Academy at 7:30 p.m. The Spartans drop to 4-6 and 1-1 and will return to action on Tuesday when they host Penn Hills at 6 p.m. in a section game.
