The WPIAL released the girls’ soccer playoff pairings on Wednesday and Pine-Richland received the No. 1 seed. The Rams finished the regular season 15-1-1, 9-0-1 with their lone loss coming in the first game of the season against Mars. They will host Connellsville Monday night in the first round. All first round games will be played Monday at 8 p.m.

In a surprising twist, their will be a rematch of last year’s WPIAL championship game in the first round between Norwin and Canon-McMillan. Norwin — once ranked No. 1 in the country by topdrawersoccer.com — finished the season 14-1-1 and 8-1-1 with their tie and loss coming to the hands of Penn-Trafford. Norwin defeated Canon-McMillan 3-1 in last year’s championship.

Penn-Trafford received the No. 2 seed as the regular season champions of Section 4. The Warriors finished with a record of 13-3-1, 9-0-1. They will host Penn Hills in the first round.
