Hampton edges Gateway in Overtime
Sophomore Isaac DeGregorio‘s hot hand from beyond the arc lifted Hampton to a 56-53 non-section win at Gateway on Wednesday night.
DeGregorio finished with 30 points on seven 3-pointers, accounting for 53 percent of his teams points.
The Talbots outscored the Gators 5-2 in overtime.
Leading the way for the Gators were senior John Paul Kromka with 21 and senior Mark Bozicevic with 15, all on 3-pointers.
The overtime win was the second in Hampton’s last four games, and improved its record to 5-5. They will return to section play on Friday when they travel to Chartiers Valley at 7:30 p.m. The loss snapped a four game win streak for Gateway, dropping its record to 4-5. They will also return to section play on Friday when they host Franklin Regional at 7:30 p.m.
