6A SECTION 1

Butler (13-4, 4-2) at New Castle (15-2, 5-1) – 7:30 pm – WBUT

Big game in Section 1-6A as New Castle tries to expand their 1-game lead for the section over Butler. New Castle has won 5 of the last 6 games. Butler has won 3 of their last 4. New Castle won the first meeting 71-60 in Butler so a New Castle win would give them a 2-game lead and the season sweep. A Butler win would make the teams tied for the section lead. Central Catholic (10-7, 4-2) at Seneca Valley (7-9, 2-4) – 7:30 pm

Central Catholic comes into tonight winners of 3 of their last 4 games. Seneca Valley has won 2 of the last 3. With a win and a Butler win, Central Catholic could jump into a 3-way tie for first place with Butler and New Castle. Seneca Valley is currently tied for the final playoff spot in the section with North Allegheny. Seneca Valley pulled off the upset on the road in the first meeting 63-54 on January 6.

North Allegheny (7-9, 2-4) at Pine-Richland (5-12, 1-5) – 7:30 pm

North Allegheny is coming off of a 62-53 loss at home against New Castle snapping a 2-game winning streak. Pine-Richland defeated Northgate 66-46 at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic on Sunday. North Allegheny is looking to keep pace with Seneca Valley for the final playoff spot in the section. Pine-Richland is a game back of the final playoff spot and looking to get back into the playoff picture. North Allegheny won the previous matchup 57-40 on January 6.

6A SECTION 2

Baldwin (10-7, 3-3) at Canon-McMillan (3-15, 0-6) – 7:30 pm

Baldwin comes into tonight following an impressive 75-73 win over Mars at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic on Sunday. Canon-McMillan is on a 10-game losing streak. Baldwin currently has a 2-game lead over Hempfield for the final playoff spot in Section 2-6A. Baldwin won the first matchup 62-37 on January 6.

Mt. Lebanon (12-5, 6-0) at Hempfield (6-12, 1-5) – 7:30 pm – Westmoreland Sports Network

Mt. Lebanon enters tonight winning 8 of the last 9 games. Hempfield comes into the game losing 5 of their last 6. Mt. Lebanon currently holds a 1-game lead over Upper St. Clair for the section lead. Bethel Park (10-6, 5-1) at Trinity (8-9, 3-3) – 7:30 pm

Bethel Park beat Ringgold on Friday 63-31 snapping a 3-game losing streak. Trinity defeated Connellsville on Friday 80-45 to snap a 2-game losing streak. Bethel Park sits tied for first in the section with Peters Township. Trinity holds a 2-game lead over Ringgold for the section’s final playoff spot. Bethel Park won the first game 76-61 on January 6.

Connellsville (0-18, 0-6) at Peters Township (14-3, 5-1) – 7:00 pm – Connellsville Sports Network

Peters Township enters tonight winners of 7 straight games. They currently sit tied atop Section 1-5A while Connellsville sits at the bottom. Peters Township won game one on the road 77-25 on January 6. The game will be broadcasted on the Connellsville Sports Network. Fox Chapel’s 65-51 loss to Penn Hills on Friday snapped a 3-game winning streak. Plum has lost 4 of their last 5 games. Fox Chapel currently sits in third place. Plum is a game back of the final playoff spot. Fox Chapel won the first game this season 62-21.

Gateway heads into tonight on a 2-game losing streak. Penn-Trafford beat Franklin Regional on the road on Friday snapping a 3-game losing streak. Gateway currently leads the section and has a 1-game lead over McKeesport. Penn-Trafford sits at the bottom of the section but only 2 games out of a playoff spot. Gateway won the first matchup 62-45 on January 6.

Latrobe (7-11, 2-4) at McKeesport (7-8, 4-2) – 5:30 pm – McKeesport Tigers Sports Network

Latrobe dropped a game to Norwin on Sunday at the Shootout at Seton Hill University ending a 2-game win streak. McKeesport are winners of 3 straight, including a big win at Gateway on Friday. Latrobe sits on the outside looking in right now a game out of a playoff spot. McKeesport is in second place, a game back of Gateway. McKeesport beat Latrobe on the road in the first game 64-62 on January 6.

Chartiers Valley (14-4, 3-3) at South Fayette (8-9, 1-5) – 7:30 pm

Chartiers Valley fell to Lincoln Park 79-65 on Sunday at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic ending a short 2-game win streak. South Fayette is currently on a 3-game losing streak. Chartiers Valley currently sits in fourth place holding a 2-game lead of South Fayette and West Allegheny for the final playoff spot. Chartiers Valley won on January 6, 60-53 at home.

Mars (12-5, 4-2) at West Allegheny (8-10, 1-5) – 7:30 pm

Mars fell to Baldwin at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday snapping a 2-game winning streak. West Allegheny is coming off of a 63-45 loss at Chartiers Valley on Friday. Mars is tied with Moon for second place and sits a game back of North Hills for first place. West Allegheny sits 2 games out of a playoff spot. Mars won the January 6th matchup 82-56.

Moon (9-6, 4-2) at North Hills (14-4, 5-1) – 7:30 pm – TribLive HSSN

Moon fell to Central Catholic 50-46 at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at Montour. The loss ended a 3-game win streak. North Hills is coming off of an 84-82 victory over Bell Vernon at the same tournament. Moon currently sits tied for second place with Mars and a game back of North Hills for the top spot. Bethel Park topped Peters Township yesterday 61-60 to snap a 4-game skid. Canon-McMillan has lost 6 straight games. Bethel Park currently sits in fifth place a game back of Baldwin for the final playoff spot. Bethel Park won the first meeting 73-51 on January 5.

5A SECTION 1

Franklin Regional (6-11, 4-5) at Kiski Area (6-11, 3-5) – 5:30 pm – TribLive HSSN

Franklin Regional beat Greensburg Salem 54-29 on Sunday at the Shootout at Seton Hill ending a losing streak of 4 games. Kiski Area is coming off of a 40-35 road win at Gateway. Franklin Regional currently sits tied with Penn Hills for fourth place and the final playoff spot. Kiski Area sits a half game back of both of those teams for the final spot.
