Baldwin Girls Volleyball remains unbeated with a 5-set win against Bethel Park

Baldwin remained unbeaten in Section 2-AAAA Tuesday night as they defeated Bethel Park 3-2.  It certainly wasn’t easy as Baldwin found themselves down 2-1 after three sets.  The highlanders won by set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16 and 16-14.

The second ranked Highlanders held leads late in games one and three before eventually being overtaken by the fourth ranked Blackhawks.  Senior Brenna Manko who tallied 28 kills and sophomore Alexa Psotka who added 15 led Bethel Park in the match.

Offensively, Baldwin launched a more balanced attack as junior Allison Murray led the way with 20 kills.  Juniors Riley Lenard and Anna Baloh added 19 and 15 kills, respectively, and junior Ally Schenk chipped in with nine kills.

On defense, senior libero, Mackenzie Meis totaled a team, and season, high 29 digs.  Senior Kerri Herron added 18 digs of her own.

Baldwin improves to 7-0 in Section 2-AAAA and 7-0 overall.  Bethel Park falls to 5-2 in the section and 7-2 overall.  The Highlanders will travel to Peters Township on Thursday for another section match starting at 7:45 p.m.
