The Baldwin girls varsity basketball team suffered a tough loss in a rivalry game to Mt. Lebanon on Thursday night, 47-36, in the Section 3-AAAAAA opener.

Coming off of a close win at Mckeesport, the Highlanders had hoped to carry the momentum into the game against the Blue Devils, but were unable to do so.

Despite the loss, senior Abbey Larkin had a good game with a game-high 17 points. Hailey Sabol led Mt. Lebanon with 12 points.

The loss brings the Highlanders record to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the section. The Blue Devils improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the section

Baldwin’s next game is a non-section tilt tonight at Gateway.
