Alumni Update – North Allegheny’s Ben Marsico
Ben Marsico led the way in Washington & Jefferson’s 7-0 win over Thomas More College last Friday, pitching 8.0 shutout innings and scattering just four hits with two walks and three strikeouts to improve to 1-1 this season.
He retired each of the first 10 batters he faced in the game and took a no-hitter into the fifth inning as the sophomore right-hander held the Saints hitless in six of his eight innings of work and a .143 batting average.
The eight shutout innings mark the longest scoreless start of Marsico’s career.
The North Allegheny graduate was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance.
